Meeting The Pioneer Woman!
My little sister Emilee and I drove four and a half hours to Salt Lake City. We were so excited at the opportunity to meet Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman! Ree was in Salt Lake for her Cookbook Signing.
The book signing was scheduled to start at 7:00pm in Salt Lake City. Emilee and I arrived at about 4:30pm. The plan was to locate The King’s English Bookstore and then do some shopping while we waited. Well…when we arrived there was already a line outside! Emilee and I hopped right in line too.
Two and a half hours later we filed into the Art Gallery (located right next door the The King’s English). I couldn’t believe how many people were there!
Emilee and I took a self-portrait while we waited for Ree to arrive:
Here’s a photo from The Pioneer Woman’s Blog. And guess what? I’m in the photo! I inserted a huge arrow (just in case you were having trouble locating me).
And here’s the photo I took (another huge arrow – which seems silly now because the photo is obviously Ree):
Ree’s sister-in-law, Missy is on the far left-hand side.
It was a blast to meet Ree, she was EXACTLY like she is on her blog. She was adorable, funny and full of life…not to mention gorgeous!
I turned out to be one of those weird fans that made her a gift.
Before I left Idaho and drove to Utah, I put together a mini album for Ree. It’s strange…but…after reading The Pioneer Woman blog for two years, I kind of feel like a know Ree a little. Like we’re friends. Kinda.
Anyway, here’s the book I made:
Ree takes the most beautiful photographs…I though she might like a little something to showcase them.
A peek inside:
Was it silly of me to hand her this book? I sure hope she likes it.
I’ll share some more photos after I get a chance to edit them. I’m still having trouble photographing my projects without my fancy camera.
…….Next up…..I promise I’ll share the Making Memories Christmas Album I’ve created!
Yay on meeting the Pioneer woman, my cube neighbor talks about her!! lol. Fantastic project, love the way you used the handles and key!!
I HAD A BLAST! When I saw you on Ree’s website I was like AWESOME! Your sorta kinda famous! lol 🙂 jk! Thanks for inviting me! It was good to go out and have some sister bonding time! Especially if we went a little at Tai Pan!!!! Love ya

A friend said I should check her out a little over a year ago. I did not know anything about blogs or bloggy land before that. She was/is a wonderful blog to enter the land through. Your album is wonderful! I think it is great!
I am soooo jealous. Ree is coming to Atlanta soon. I’m going to try and get down there.
Your little book is so beautiful. I know she loves it.
Wow! How long did it take you to make the book? It looks amazing! I’m sure she’ll like it. At least I do!!!
LUCKY!!! I am officially UBER jealous. I absolutely love the Pioneer Women, and no you’re not silly for handing Ree that book. If I was as crafty and talented as you, I would’ve handed her one too!
I LOVE Ree! I can’t believe you met her! And gave her your album ( I would have totally chickened out, but then, I’m not the famous Christie Bryant…) LOL That is too awesome!
I love this book, it’s so beautifully made with all the details.
Came over from PW. The book you made her is WONDERFUL. You are so talented. I am sure she loves it.
The Park Wife
Wow. I am sure she loved it. The door handle and the key were my favorite. What a fun trip!
How could she not absolutely love that book. You are so awesome to make that for her (in a way you’re ‘giving back’ for all of us who love her blog!)
that is the most exquisite, inspiring piece of art…i love the door handle idea..it makes me wish i had more hours in the day to expand my scrapbooking love into such miraculous areas of design..you are a light at the end of many dark tunnels for those of us stuck in a rut…keep the positive beauty of your creations forever in sight.
