Pan Pastels…
I snapped this photo of my nephew, Cooper at the Crabtree Cabin last Summer.
At the time, Cooper was just learning to walk. I loved to watch him discover the feel of rocks and grass under his feet. As he walked back and forth he became braver and walked a little faster. So, so sweet.
I used Pan Pastels on both of these layouts. I need to experiment with Pan Pastels more…one of my goals this year is to get more comfortable using different mediums. I might try a bit of water color too. My mom and I are thinking of taking the Junelle Jacobson workshop (Scarlet Lime), it looks so fun:
These photos were taken two years ago…Dan with his parents.
I hope that your new year is off to a great start (I’m finally getting Christmas put away).
Love the fresh start that comes with a new year.
Take care,
Christie

Super cute! I love the leaves on the paper– so pretty! Hope you’re doing well!
Your layouts are beautiful! I especially like the one with the butterflies. Ihave heard a lot about pan pastels. I’ll have to get myself a set. Thank you for sharing!

Your layouts are lovely…I also want to experiment with mixed media this year. I am doing the Scrapbook Journal 2012 with Stephanie Ackerman.
Beautiful layouts, now I might have to try pan pastel!! oh no, don’t get me started, i can’t do media, lol.
Love your layouts, Christie! I’m thinking about taking the class at Scarlet Lime also. It looks like an awful lot of really fun stuff. Also, there are a couple of great Pan Pastel tutorials at Donna Downey’s website. They’re inexpensive and offer a lot of info.
